If you are a full-service member and you would like a book, DVD, or video game that the Library does not own and it is less than a year old, you can fill out a “Suggest a Purchase” form, and we will consider it for purchase. If you would like a book whose publication date is over a year old, ask a Librarian about borrowing the book through our Interlibrary Loan service.
INTERLIBRARY LOAN
For many years, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) has been part of our service model. In recent years, its use has declined considerably and is now impacted by federal funding uncertainties. Effective October 1, the state-funded delivery program ends, which will ultimately make this service even more expensive. After careful evaluation of the downward trend, rising costs, and our current priorities, the Library has made the decision to sunset Interlibrary Loan. It no longer represents the best use of our resources.
This choice allows us to reallocate valuable staffing resources to areas where they will have the greatest impact—meeting in-house demands, supporting visits, and strengthening the services most used by our community. By redirecting this powerful resource, we can serve more patrons in ways they find most helpful and immediate.
Interlibrary Loan requests will be accepted and processed through November 30, 2025. At this time, we are limiting requests to two per month per user. Although we will submit requests to libraries through November 30th, we cannot determine if they will be filled as libraries across Florida address the costs of mailing books.
We recognize that some patrons may feel disappointed by this change. To support your continued access to a wide range of materials, we encourage you to explore our robust Libby and Hoopla digital collections, which provide thousands of eBooks and Audiobooks available instantly from home. Our staff is always happy to provide one-on-one assistance with accessing these services, ensuring that your reading and research needs continue to be met seamlessly.
Suggest a Title
We welcome suggestions for items to be included in our collection. Submissions do not guarantee purchase. Approved items may take approximately four weeks to appear in the catalog. When a suggested item is ordered by the Library, it will be listed in our catalog as being “On Order.”
Suggested titles must be less than one year old. If the title is older and is a book, use the Interlibrary Loan service. Reciprocal borrowers should contact their home library for this service.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan is only available to full-service Library cardholders.
