The Library sells boat decals that allow access to the Winter Park Chain of Lakes at our first floor Information Desks during regular operating hours. You will need to bring your current boat registration and know the horsepower of the engine on your boat. The Library cannot issue decals for boats over 24 feet.
Canoes and kayaks under 16’ do not need state registrations or decals unless they have a trolling motor. Jet skis are treated like boats and usually have at least a 50-horsepower motor. Boats with trolling motors (either gas or electric which are either 1 or 2 horsepower) do require state registrations and boat decals.
Temporary permits for one-day use are available. The price is the same for residents and non-residents: The boat must be registered (in or out of state) but Library staff does not have to see the registration.
User fees are collected and decals are also issued at the City’s Finance Department in City Hall on Monday-Friday 8 to 5. Maitland residents can get resident rates if they purchase their decals at the Maitland Community Park at 1400 Mayo Ave. Maitland, FL. 32751.

The Library provides English and Spanish language Florida Voter Registration Applications at the first floor Information Desks during regular operating hours. Forms may be filled out and left at the Library for Orange County Supervisor of Elections staff to pick up.
The Library is frequently used as an Early Voting location by the Orange County Supervisor of Elections. However, the Library is not a regular polling location, meaning that you will never come to the Library on Election Day to vote. Check your voter registration card for your voting precinct information. A Librarian can help you look up your Election Day voting location; call 407-623-3300, ext. 3 for assistance.
AARP Tax Aide volunteers offer free tax preparation by appointment in the Library annually. Exact dates and times vary.
