Fifth generation sweetgrass basket weaver, Corey Alston teaches you how to make a Palmetto Rose using sweetgrass. Gullah Sweetgrass Basket Weaving is a skill found only on the Southeast coast of the United States. No previous skills required to take this class. In observance of Juneteenth, the Winter Park Library pays homage to the culture and heritage of Gullah with a day of historical events.
