Program Description

Details

Learn the hidden history of how the lakes of Winter Park's got their names. Lake Osceola was once called Lake Mayo, why did it change? Where was John's Hole - and how did that name come about? Was Lake Virginia named for a lady or a place? The pioneers that settled this area are long gone, but Rick has kept their stories alive in his book-Orlando Lakes: Homesteaders and Namesakes.

A detailed historian, Rick has published 12 books with topics that span the histories of the railroads, Orlando, Mt Dora, Tavares and more. His work has become a valued tool for people researching their community's history.

Mr. Cronin's books will be available for purchase after the event or online at: https://www.amazon.com/author/richardcronin
