The Next Chapter for the Winter Park Library
The Library is moving to a new location this year. Our new facility is future-ready with expanded spaces and collections and flexible areas to meet the needs of our community in the 21st century. Thank you for your patience during this time of transition.
Library Building Closure
- The old library building will be closed starting October 31, 2021
- Regular library operations will stop on October 29 at 6 PM.
New Library Location
The main parking lot is accessible via the Harper St entrance. Handicap parking is available via the Morse Blvd entrance.
New Library Community Open House
Join us in celebrating our new, state-of-the-art library at the Community Open House on Saturday, December 11 from 10 AM to 3 PM.
New Library Opening
- The first day of regular library operations in our new location will be Monday, December 13 at 9 AM.
- Library hours will be Monday – Thursday 9 AM – 9 PM and Friday – Saturday 9 AM – 6 PM
Polly Seymour New Leaf Bookstore
The Polly Seymour New Leaf Bookstore will follow the same closure and re-opening schedule as the Library. The New Leaf Bookstore will be relocated to the first floor in the new building at 1052 W. Morse Blvd.
What happens to the old Library building?
The City of Winter Park is in the process of determining the use of the current library site.
What to Expect During the Library Closure
During the library building closure period (Oct. 30-December 13) the following policies will be in effect:
Extended lending period
Borrowed library materials will not be due before January 3. No fines will be accrued during this time period.
Need to return borrowed material? We will be picking up from the book drop at the old building daily in November.
No new requests for Interlibrary Loan (ILL) will be accepted after October 15. Interlibrary loan will resume on December 13.
